Step one
Capture the moment
Three ways to save a clip. They all end up in the same place.
- Hotkey clippingPress one key while live and the last 60 seconds is saved as a Twitch clip.Ctrl+Alt+H by default, rebindable to any key or a mouse side button. Boltis never records your screen, so there is no FPS impact.Read more
- The !clip chat commandLet your mods or viewers clip your stream by typing !clip in chat.Three permission levels, a cooldown so it cannot be spammed, and a choice of what Boltis replies with. The clip lands in your editor, not just your Twitch clip list.Read more
- Clip other streamersPoint your hotkey at someone else's live channel with ClipFor.Clip streams you watch, and test your whole setup before you have ever gone live. Boltis switches back to your own channel automatically the moment you start streaming.Read more
Step two
Make it postable
The clip is in the editor already. These turn it into something you can post.
- Vertical layoutsThree ways to fit a 16:9 clip into a 9:16 frame, and when to use each.Split stacks facecam above gameplay. Fullscreen crops to fill. Blurred places the picture over a blurred copy of the clip. All export at 1080 by 1920.Read more
- Auto captionsGenerate captions in one click, edit any word, or export an SRT file.Eight style presets and four animations. Burn them into the vertical export, or take the .srt or .vtt to Premiere, Resolve or CapCut instead.Read more
- OverlaysAdd GIFs, Twitch emotes, text, social callouts and your own images.Search GIPHY from the editor, drop in your channel emotes, and animate any overlay in and out with five entrance and exit styles.Read more
- Trim and cutTrim the ends, cut sections out, and get suggested cuts for pauses.Silence detection reads the caption word timings. Every cut can be restored, and captions and overlays stay in sync.Read more
Step three
Stop doing it by hand
Save the edit once, and let clips format and render themselves after the stream.
- Presets and automationSave the edit once, and every hotkey clip comes out formatted.A preset holds layout, caption style, overlays and export settings. One preset free. Unlimited presets and per-game auto-apply on Premium.Read more
- Background rendering and batch exportQueue clips and let them render in the background, never while you are live.Queue from the editor, a hotkey, or a batch of edited clips. Free holds 2 at a time, and Premium removes the limit.Read more
- Post to TikTok and YouTubeSend finished clips to TikTok and YouTube in one click, or once they have rendered.TikTok clips land in your TikTok Inbox to caption and post. YouTube uploads take a description and tags, and can be scheduled. Premium.Read more
How it fits together
One pipeline, three front doors
The hotkey is you pressing a key. The chat command is your mods or viewers doing it for you when your hands are busy. ClipFor is the same key pointed at a channel you are watching.
However the clip was captured, it lands in the Boltis editor, where a vertical layout makes it 9:16 and captions make it watchable on mute. Overlays and cuts finish it. Then you export it, with no watermark, ready to post.
Once you know how you like your clips, a preset does that edit for you, and the export queue renders the clips in the background after your stream.
